Attack of the Clones 2!

Allright I was getting pounded with bot spam again and since I doubt none of us are quite into enlargement of *any* kind, I decided to close commenting until I get a verification of some kind.

Keep strumming, cya

Back in Business!

Hi everyone. It's been a while I know, but I plan on getting active again.

Comments-section has been reopened so come say hello and request tabs. (Preliminary tests show no signs of spambot attacks, however if they occur I will have to add some code to the thing) I have many new tabs coming up but I lost my laptop so I am out of software at the moment. I think I have some tabs lying in my inbox so I'm going to check them out and add them.

Have a nice summer and hold on to your ukes, fellow musicians :)

Spam-attack!
2009-01-08 at 06:31
If you've strolled around here recently, you might have noticed weird stuff appearing on the comments-section. I've deleted all of the posts (in total around 200 probably) as they were containing links to weird spambot feeding sites. Probably not harmful if you have clicked one, but I wouldn't suggest doing so anyway. As for why did it happen right now I have a few theories, most plausible being that I've gained enough publicity so that a spambot automated to bounce around the net found a link to my site somewhere. I will add image verification / some other fancy stuff, I found a good php script package.

As for tabs, well darn I have to admit I've been a bit lazy. I believe I got some stuff in my mailbox I should add and arranged quite a bit of christmas songs, too, but just don't get around tabbing them out. Holiday's over and have to spend some time dri... I mean doing school work, too.

Anyway, it's a new year and the old tabs. There will be more eventually but in the meantime you could spend time with the existing ones. Anyone learned Cait Sith's Theme yet? Me neither, it's impossible :D I dunno what I was thinking when I tabbed it out.

Uke project progress
2008-11-12 at 14:29
I've uploaded some more photos of my progress in building my first uke. I've really picked myself up and rushed through all the delicate steps such as sawing fret slots, maybe even too fast, but we'll have to see about that. Patience is not one of my blooming virtues but luckily I've got sloth on the vice side.

Soon it's time for trying to bend the sides, I fear that's something that's way too easy to screw up totally, so I'll maybe have to be extra careful with it.

New tabs and project update
2008-11-08 at 12:50
Funnily enough when I checked my gmail the other day I found both Iernon and Brandon Reinking had sent me their To Zanarkand tabs. Coincidence? Maybe, but it doesn't matter anyway, thank you for contributing. I've added them to the list. Anyone else that has video game music tabs lying around may send them to me to be hosted on this site.

I find myself pretty much occupied with lutherie but don't worry, ShadowFlare's Ukulele Songbook has come to stay. My tenor uke project is proceeding nicely, although I've got the most crucial steps (bending the sides and sawing fret slots) right ahead of me and I am slightly worried about how they will turn out. I've got new photos of my newly shaped neck, fingerboard and bridge that I'd like to add when I can find the time.

Lutherie!
2008-10-17 at 22:40
I haven't been into playing uke that much lately since I've used all my spare time building and thinking about building a tenor uke. I've bought, sawn and glued some of the mahogany and rosewood parts already and my CAD-drawn plans are constantly evolving. I've got an exterior mold ready to be used when I finally find material for bending the sides.

I'm also interested in building a Finnish traditional instrument, Kantele and lately, ocarinas.

I'll try to post some photos of my progress when I uh, make some more.

About-section opened

I finally bothered with writing a short info section about the site and myself. I've been so busy with school and other stuff that I find it really hard to find the time to tab the stuff I play nowadays. Also lately I've been increasingly interested in building wooden instruments so I have little idea what's going to happen.

Day 002
2008-09-21 at 12:32
Okay, I've fixed most of the broken links and added most of the guitar pro files I have. Powertab files need some major rearranging and I won't be linking them yet. I've only used them to produce the ASCII text files of the tabs, so the durations and rhythm are little off. Also, the Guitar Pro files - along with the midi files that are directly exported from them - haven't been updated like the .txt have. So always look for the best way (in my opinion at least) to play something in the .txt-file that opens when you click the name of the song. These are the kind of little inconsistencies I will try to fix at some point eventually.

Happy strumming!

As you can see, the site has undergone a total makeover. We have all the tabs in their own section so you can see everything at one glance. There's also the News page you're currently looking at which is supposed to keep you guys informed about stuff. Commenting has also got its own page, say goodbye to the claustrophobia of the old shoutbox!

Some of the links might not work and I'm going to fix them eventually and also add powertab files which is the last field in the tab list in case you were wondering. But I just wanted you guys to see what has been achieved so far.

Most of the work involved in the renewal plan has been done by my hard-working, all-knowing, loyal brother, all hail Ville!
